Enhancing operational processes to ensure an outstanding student experience

This is a key role in which you will be overseeing and enhancing the operational platform for scale which has been successfully established in the School. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring that all operational processes are clearly defined and documented and support the effective deployment and delivery of our programmes whilst ensuring a high-quality experience for our students.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting with the strategic development and financial management of the School of Nursing
  • Consulting with BPP's FP&A and finance teams in the creation of rolling financial forecasts
  • Accountable for key KPIs within the School including: Student engagement, satisfaction, retention and attainment; Staff satisfaction and retention; Staff utilisation and resource management; and Cost management
  • Produce monthly intake forecasts presenting the growth and scalability within the School
  • Responsible for the overall student experience whilst on programme, including the international student experience and ensuring UKVI compliance
  • Strategic lead for the operations and support teams in the School ensuring all aspects of operational delivery are organised to meet the needs of the programmes and are scalable
  • Ensuring the School's operational services are: Operating in a lean and effective manner; Scalable to meet the significant student growth forecasts; Compliant with Regulatory requirements; and Utilising central approved systems and minimising off system data storage/manipulation and retention
  • Lead on the development and improvement of operational processes and service
  • Journey mapping of all students and partners, to ensure a high quality experience for all
  • Managing the relationship between the School and key central departments
  • Overseeing the operational planning and delivery activities within the School ensuring effective communication and collaboration between different teams
  • Accountable for ensuring live student data is accurate to ensure cohort tracking and effective resource planning
  • Managing the provision of data to all internal stakeholders via dashboards in PowerBI
  • Collaborating with the SMT and wider BPP to ensure continuous improvement and development of processes, using technology where appropriate.
  • Management of the School Risk Register and associated provisions
  • Assisting the Dean of the School generally as a member of the School senior leadership team

What we're looking for

  • First degree and/or substantial experience of running large scale administrative operations
  • Proven management and leadership experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of the UK Higher Education sector
  • Experience of analysing data and implementing actions
  • Experience of working with international students
  • Experience with finance, forecasting and budgets
  • Experience of intake forecasting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to delegate and set realistic targets for team members
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, challenge and inspire people
  • Proactive 'can do' attitude and ability to lead by example and inspire others
  • Able to deal with difficult/sensitive issues
  • Able to manage people and resolve conflicts
  • Understanding of the complexity of working in regulated education
  • Power BI expertise (desirable)
  • Knowledge and utilisation of project management techniques
  • Experience of responding to situations which require realignment of resources and stepping in to help as required
