Due to a recent contract win, a leading facilities maintenance company are looking for a Resident Engineer to be based on site in Southampton to ensure all pre planned and reactive maintenance work is carried out.

This is a single site position and will require you to work any 5 days in 7 (typically 1 weekend on, 1 weekend off) with Friday/Monday as rest days. Hours are typically 7am to 4pm but on some occasions you may need to work out of hours which will be paid at overtime rates.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • To carry out planned maintenance on site - emergency lighting, fire alarm testing, sprinkler testing, PAT testing, electrical fault finding
  • Mechanical planned maintenance such as air handling units, pumps/motors, water testing
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive inhighlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also includefabric related items.
  • To participate in the on call rota
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Ensure that all relevant paperwork and CAFM updates are completed regarding PPM, reactiveand breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrically Qualified
  • 18th edition
  • Experience working within a commercial environment in a similar role
  • Able to work over some weekends
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
