Technical Sales Support


Up to £35,000 plus excellent benefits

My client is looking to recruit a Technical Sales Support person to join their well established team. The company operates as an importer, stockist, and distributor of stored energy products. They are part of a global trading group with over 60 years of experience and warehouses throughout the UK & Europe, they are one of the leading distributors in their sector.

Reporting to the Technical Product Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the successful technical sales and support of our product. As Technical Sales & Support you will offer customers and commercial team members high levels of support including technical guidance, advice, quotations, sales order processing and resolving service delivery queries to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Responding to customer enquiries passed from the sales and service teams.
  • Ensuring that all sales quotations are fully costed, can be practically and realistically achieved within the logistics capabilities and are commercially profitable.
  • Accurately update and maintain any relevant technical records and documentation.
  • Work with the Field Sales team to finalise sales orders.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Manager to hand over sales orders to the operations team to ensure that all customer requirements are understood and met so that the order progresses through the business smoothly and efficiently.
  • Contact the customer post-purchase to ensure they are satisfied; logistics expectations have been met and establish if they have or will have any further requirements. Follow up these requirements where necessary.
  • Feedback customer and market information to the Technical Sales team acquired to support new product development projects.

Skills and Experience

  • An understanding of renewable energy systems
  • Previous experience within a Technical Sales / Account Management role.
  • Good business and commercial awareness.
  • IT literate in systems relevant to role; MS Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Strong focus on customer experience - taking ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate initiative to spot opportunities for improvement.
  • Able to manage workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work on own or as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand fault finding and diagnostic of inverters, chargers, batteries
  • Ability to communicate and train others in technical functions
  • Ability to be hands on with demonstrating the key features of all products
